LEAN SIX SIGMA YELLOW BELT

CERTIFICATE

The Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt course provides an overview of Six Sigma concepts, background, and the Six Sigma Define-Measure-Analyze- Improve-Control process (DMAIC) and will show you how to develop and apply specific Six Sigma tools and methods to arrive at a solution to a business challenge. Leaders should complete the Yellow Belt training with initial projects chartered and ready for a Black Belt or Green Belt to lead or take with them to their training.

Course Structure and Requirements:
All course sessions use a combination of slides, diagrams, charts, activities, and simulations. Yellow Belts should bring potential process improvement projects with them to the course. These projects should not have obvious solutions or require capital expenditure and should be able to be completed by a team in three to six months. Attendance of all sessions is required to receive the course completion certificate.

As Yellow Belts work through the course they are asked to demonstrate knowledge and understanding in several ways:

  • Interactive practice exercises will be presented throughout each session so that you can try your new skills and get immediate feedback.
  • Supplemental exercises will be presented at the end of every session to practice new concepts. Supplemental exercises are self-graded and may be shared during classroom discussion.
  • it is strongly suggested that potential Lean Six Sigma Improvement Projects accompany this course. The learning experience will be enhanced significantly if concepts and tools are related to real-world projects as the course is completed. At the end of the course, these projects will have preliminary project charters ready for a Black Belt or Green Belt to lead during their project or during training.
Certificate of Completion:
Upon completion of this course (review of all lessons and completion of skill check modules) a certificate of completion will be provided.
